London
Typeface

As a component of our WeCanType training program, we've developed a range of typefaces inspired by London. The Warddeni typeface pays homage to the history of the Imperial War Museum building.
Originally a mental asylum which housed hundreds od patients, it now serves as a public and educational institution.

Concept
Examining the impact of war and its devastation on architecture and its visual language, our objective was to craft a typeface with a minimalist sans-serif aesthetic. We sought to concentrate solely on deconstructing select letters to symbolise the ravages of war.

IWM
Magazine
A small magazine talking about the history of the building, containing images, designs and documents that influenced the birth of Wardeni Typeface.

Type
Specimen
Printed on wood, using a laser printer.
